GOVERNMENT ISSUE - "THE FUN JUST NEVER ENDS" LP

When people talk of the great Washington D.C. hardcore scene they are quick to mention bands like Minor Threat, Fugazi, Dagnasty and majority of the Dischord bands, but very few people bring up Government Issue. Maybe it is because they did not follow the whinny proto-emo thing and actually evolved beyond the scene. Whatever the reason, Government Issue still does not get the respect that they deserve. The Fun Just Never Ends is a quintessential hardcore record that sounds as fresh today was when it was released in 1985. Tom Lyle's riffs are heavy, metallic and catchy as hell as Marc Alberstadt's rock steady beat holds everything together. In addition, John Stabb's vocals start to evolve, moving past the typical D.C scene vocal stylings and closer to a goth-like Damned influenced vocal style.
